Version Cue FAQ

Coinciding with the release of Adobe® Creative Suite® 5 software, Adobe is discontinuing the sale and distribution of the asset management tool known as Adobe Version Cue®. This decision is part of our strategy to provide integrated asset management experiences to Creative Suite users in a way that reflects the current digital asset management (DAM) marketplace. Adobe will continue to invest in asset management enablement through open industry standards and partnerships. The FAQ offers answers to the most commonly asked questions about this transition.

Adobe Version Cue CS3 SDK

The Version Cue CS3 SDK is a integrated development environment built on Eclipse that enables java developers to create plugins for the Version Cue CS3 Server. With a extended Version Cue CS3 solution, creative workgroups can connect to external systems without having to leave the context of their creative applications.

Version Cue is included with the Creative Suite 3 and provides centralized file management for creative workgroups that is easily accessible from Creative Suite components. You can leverage Version Cue's application integration to enable connectivity to external systems from Bridge CS3, Illustrator CS3, InDesign CS3, InCopy CS3, Photoshop CS3, and Flash CS3 Professional.

Version Cue and DAM

The Version Cue CS3 SDK provides a way to extend the features of Version Cue CS3 and create connectors to DAM, ECM, CMS, source control, and other information systems. • Provide a method of authentication to an external system.
